Our Story

Drexel Counseling Services, Inc. (DCS) has been a cornerstone of recovery in our community for nearly two decades. Founded in 2007, DCS began as a provider of outpatient treatment, anger management, DUI services built on a simple but powerful belief: that every person deserves a real chance at recovery.

On April 16, 2013, DCS expanded its mission by transitioning into a methadone maintenance substance use treatment center, broadening our ability to serve individuals struggling with opioid use disorder through Opioid Maintenance Treatment (OMT). This milestone marked a turning point in our commitment to meeting the full spectrum of our community's needs.

From the beginning, we have believed that healing happens best in an environment built on compassion, dignity, and trust. At DCS, we do not just treat addiction; we work to understand it. We educate our patients on addiction as a symptom of deeper struggles, and we walk alongside them to address those root causes head on. Our staff and patients work together as partners, because we know that a commitment to total recovery must exist on both sides of the relationship.

Over the years, that commitment has made a real difference. To date, DCS has proudly served more than 1,400 unduplicated patients, and we continue to grow. Today, we offer comprehensive substance use disorder services including SUD assessments, methadone and suboxone treatment, individual and family counseling, group counseling, case management, HIV/AIDS education and testing, and referrals to social service resources.

Our journey is far from over. Every day, we show up for our patients and their families, walking with them through one of the most challenging roads they will ever face, and celebrating every step they take toward a healthier, fuller life.
